Amlovas 10 Tablet is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and prevent angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps lower blood pressure and reduce the heart’s workload, thereby decreasing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

This medicine may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medications. The dosage depends on the severity of the condition. It can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food, but should be taken at the same time each day for maximum effectiveness. It is important to continue taking this medication as prescribed, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Stopping the medication suddenly may worsen the condition. Alongside medication, maintaining an active lifestyle, healthy diet, and proper weight management helps in controlling blood pressure.

Common side effects include headache, swelling (edema), fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and drowsiness (somnolence). If these side effects persist or cause discomfort, consulting a doctor is advisable. Rarely, some patients may experience lichenoid keratosis, a benign skin lesion that appears brownish or reddish in sun-exposed areas. If this occurs, inform your doctor.

Before starting Amlovas 10 Tablet, let your doctor know if you have liver, heart, or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medication.
